656 Funnel
The funnel is made of steel plating.
It’s purpose is to discharge excess petrol when tipping the carburettor, at
described on page 11 of the booklet “Ner-a-car, Motoring on two wheels”.
Pictures are taken from Model A with engine # 1120, which was for sale by “Yesterdays
Antique Motorcycles” in Nederweert, The Netherlands, in 2010/2011.
The shape of the funnel is somewhat oval, with a step at the RH side to give
room to the gear control.
The shape of the funnel can be seen on the same page 11. The tip sticks through
the hole of the bottom plate which is fitted under the engine.
I have to make a replica of the funnel,
based upon the photographs I took at “Yesterdays”.
This section will be updated as soon as the replica has been made.
Anyone who has an
original funnel, please provide me with more details, more photographs and more
dimensions, for an update of this section.
